Hurricane Polo Zero Casualties Report. Governor of Baja California Sur Víctor Cosío and Laura Velázquez, National Coordinator, National Civil Protection Coordination (CNPC), reported zero fatalities following Hurricane Polo. Governor Cosío specified that approximately 700 evacuated residents temporarily housed in emergency shelters will return to their homes on Tuesday.
National Vaccination and Healthcare Infrastructure Expansion. Minister of Health David Kershenobich reported that federal public health institutions administered 149 million vaccine doses during the current administration, achieving a youth vaccination protection rate exceeding 90%. Deputy Minister of Health Eduardo Clark added that federal authorities inaugurated 33 new, expanded, or replacement hospital facilities across public health network institutions.
Ayotzinapa Investigation Advances. Félix Medina, Deputy Minister for Human Rights, Population and Migration and Minister of the Interior (SEGOB), detailed new investigative leads the Attorney General's Office (FGR) has developed into the disappearance of the 43 Ayotzinapa students, centered on re-analyzing call logs from Iguala. Medina explained that forensic telecommunications auditing identified 17 organized-crime members who communicated with one another on the night of the incident and traced the secondary use of the victims' mobile devices in subsequent weeks.
President Sheinbaum affirmed that federal investigations regarding the 43 missing students will continue until judicial accountability is achieved, emphasizing that newly analyzed evidence and non-testimonial proof guide current prosecutorial operations.
President Sheinbaum reported that federal authorities and the FGR remain in direct dialogue with Israeli judicial authorities to request the extradition of Tomás Zerón de Luque, former Head of the Criminal Investigation Agency of the former Attorney General's Office (PGR). President Sheinbaum explained that in the absence of a bilateral extradition treaty with Israel, diplomatic and legal pressure remains necessary to secure Zerón's return to face charges regarding grave procedural irregularities in the Ayotzinapa investigation and public corruption.
