Blackouts. After blackouts hit parts of Mexico over the last couple of days, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said that there are still 89,000 users who are without electricity in Chihuahua and Tamaulipas. He said that normal service was expected to return no later than the weekend, although that would also depend on the weather. He also pointed to Texas as part of the problem. "The situation in Texas is serious and they do not have gas and the gas that exists has increased in price a lot.” He added that CFE’s plants are starting to work and solve the problem.
Vaccines a political campaign? AMLO made clear that the vaccination of elderly citizens has nothing to do with any sort of political campaign, as some have claimed. "We are going to continue to oppose manipulation, the use of social programs, of government programs for electoral purposes; we are not the same. There is no intention to act in an illegal and perverse manner."

"Just a reminder that there is no impunity for anyone, that is a change, a difference. Whoever commits an offense is punished, whoever it is," he said.
