Claims against PEMEX/Credit beneficiaries

Claims against PEMEX. President López Obrador requested there be an investigation of the claims in regards to the mistreatment of PEMEX´s workers. He said that if an investigation is not done, it could be about a dirty campaign to discredit the state-owned company promoted by the union. Moreover, he said that what is being perceived is an unconformity regarding the lack of uniforms and equipment. In addition, the president reaffirmed the need to know if there is such a dirty campaign, he is urging PEMEX officials to answer these demands. 

Credit beneficiaries. López Obrador asked that all beneficiaries of credits during the COVID-19 pandemic keep paying their credits so that more people continue to have access to this aid. Furthermore, he remembered that this help was provided to help small businesses, and hard-working people and to reactivate the economy.

In addition, the president informed that Mexican Telecommunications (Telecomm) will have more tasks and will be in charge of administering, granting and collecting these credits. It will be the only institution in charge of that and Telecomm will become the Welfare Finance Institution.

Sergio “Checo” Pérez. President López Obrador celebrated the triumph of the Mexican pilot Sergio “Checo” Pérez in the Monaco Grand Pix. Checo Pérez is the most successful Mexican pilot in the history of Formula 1 achieving three victories and beating the two victories of Pedro Rodríguez. This win sums up the victories in Sakhir 2020 and Azerbaijan 2021.

Laboratory in Dos Bocas. During the morning conference, the Ministry of Energy (SENER) noted that they are working on the final details of the laboratory in the Olmeca Refinery in Dos Bocas, Tabasco. The laboratory is sectioned into four modules and its construction is expected to be concluded at the end of this week.

Minister of Energy Rocío Nahle recently reported that the Dos Bocas complex has an overall development completion of 87 percent and is ready to be inaugurated in July 2022.

Gas LP prices. The Federal Consumers’ Protection Office (PROFECO) informed that deriving from the policy implemented by the federal government the maximum price of LP gas is MX$3 (US$0.15) below international prices. Ricardo Sheffield Padilla, Head of the Federal Consumer Attorney Office, said the average price for stationary tanks is MX$13.34 (US$0.68) per liter while for gas cylinders has an average price of MX$24.73 (US$1.27) per liter.
