CNDH against INE/AMLO asks Elon Musk to free Twitter

CNDH against INE. President López Obrador backed  the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH) 46/2022 recommendation which asks for the transformation of the National Electoral Institute (INE) and the revindication of the people’s right to democracy. Moreover, the president said the INE is run by fraudsters. 

Last Sunday, the CNDH published the general recommendation 46/2022 asking for the modification of the INE. According to the Commission, the INE has maintained corruption practices for years which have tainted electoral processes. 

AMLO asks Elon Musk to free Twitter. President López Obrador asked Elon Musk to free the social media app and repair the damage done when former US president Donald Trump’s account was canceled.

Last Friday, Elon Musk became Twitter´s single owner and proceeded to fire all top directors.  

LP gas prices. The Federal Consumer Agency PROFECO assured that due to the policy implemented by the federal government regarding maximum gas LP prices in Mexico, the price of this fuel continues to be lower than the international price. 

Ricardo Sheffield Padilla, Head of the Federal Consumer Agency PROFECO reported that the average price for stationary tanks is MX$11.32 (US$0.57) per liter while for gas cylinders the average price is MX$20.97(US$1.06) per kilo.

Sheffield Padilla said the companies selling the most economic LP stationary gas are Gas Premium in the State of Mexico at MX$11.01 (US$0.56), Gas el Paraíso in Puebla at MX$11.19 (US$0.56) and Estufa y Gas in Veracruz at MX$10.84 (US$0.55). 

Basic food prices. PROFECO said the National Consumer Price Index (INPC) for food and beverages reported  a decrease for the third consecutive week in the maximum and minimum price of the basic food basket.
