COVID-19 vaccine. Luis Cresencio Sandoval, the Head of the Ministry of National Defense (SEDENA), announced that 12,000 vaccine doses would be administered in Campeche’s 81 health centers located in Champoton, Ciudad del Carmen, Escarcega and Xpujil. This round of vaccines will start tomorrow at 10 a.m. It is destined for basic-level public education teachers, upper secondary and higher-level teachers, and private schools.

Companies and local governments. President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said that if any companies or local governments want to acquire COVID-19 vaccines independently, they now have authorization. “Only, they must attach to the application the contract for the purchase of the vaccines, the quantity and the pharmaceutical. Also, where they are going to administer them, the latter so that there are no duplications; we are going to fulfill the commitment to vaccinate all Mexicans.”

Cienfuegos investigation continues. The president brought attention to the Cienfuegos case, again mentioning that the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) should conduct an internal investigation to uncover who was responsible for the Cienfuegos case. “I believe that it is severe, for any institution in the world, to lie and to manufacture crimes. It is an ethical issue.”
