Drug Cartels/Oil Expropriation Anniversary

Labeling Drug Cartels as Terrorist Organizations is Propaganda: AMLO. President López Obrador said that US Senator Dan Crenshaw initiative to classify  drug cartels as terrorists is propaganda. Moreover, López Obrador clarified that a report from the US State Department revealed that there are no links between terrorist groups and Mexican cartels.  

On January 12, Dan Crenshaw submitted an initiative where the use of force from the US Army against Mexican cartels would be endorsed. The Sinaloa, Jalisco Nueva Generación and Los Zetas are among some of the cartes on the list. 

Oil Expropriation Anniversary. President López Obrador invited citizens to gather at Mexico City’s downtown to celebrate the anniversary of the oil expropriation next Saturday, March 18. The president qualified Lázaro Cardenas’s oil expropriation as “a stellar moment in Mexico’s history.”
