Guatemala's presidential elections. President López Obrador announced that he spoke with Bernardo Arévalo following his victory in the second round of Guatemala’s presidential elections. López Obrador added that they agreed to meet once he is appointed as president elect.
Disappearance of a Mexican Citizen in Canada. President López Obrador reported that the Canadian police provided a report to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) regarding the disappearance of Mexican national Carlos Tomás Aranda in the town of Osoyoos. This information will be handed over today to the family members of the young man from Oaxaca.
"They have already sent us a report. Today, during the cabinet meeting, Secretary Alicia Bárcena presented this report provided by the Canadian police. This report will be delivered to [Aranda’s] parents, possibly today, detailing everything that happened and what is being done. We are working on it and will continue with this investigation," he stated.
Mayan Train. The second convoy of the Mayan Train, which has been fully constructed and assembled, has begun its period of static testing at Alstom workshops in Ciudad Sahagún, Hidalgo, announced Maite Ramos, Director, Alstom.
Moreover, she mentioned that the convoy located in Cancun is now ready to begin its dynamic testing phase. "We can see how the rolling Jaguar is about to test its full capacity. Train 2 has already been delivered and is starting the process of static and dynamic testing, similar to Train 1," she explained.
Ramos also mentioned that the assembly of the third Mayan Train convoy is progressing and is scheduled to be delivered for testing before the end of this month.
