Security Assessment. Marcela Figueroa, Head, Executive Ministry of the National Public Security System (SESNSP), reported that September 2025 was the month with the fewest homicides in nine years. She detailed a 32% decrease in the daily average of intentional homicides from September 2024 to September 2025, with the daily figure dropping from 86.9 to 59.5, representing 27 fewer victims per day. Figueroa also noted that the first nine months of President Claudia Sheinbaum's administration have seen the lowest homicide rate for such a period since 2016.

Regarding the concentration of this crime, the report identified Guanajuato as the state with the most victims at 2,084, followed by Chihuahua, Baja California, Sinaloa, the State of Mexico, Guerrero, and Michoacan. Conversely, the states with the lowest homicide rates were led by Yucatan with 23 victims, followed by Durango, Coahuila, Aguascalientes, Campeche, Tlaxcala, and Baja California Sur.

Figueroa reported a 46% reduction in the daily average of high-impact crimes when comparing 2016 figures. Decreases include a 48% drop in vehicle theft and a 55% reduction in theft from transporters. For extortion, the report indicates that while formal complaints have increased, 74% of attempted extortions were successfully prevented.

Minister of Security Omar García Harfuch reported that the national security strategy has resulted in the dismantling of 1,564 methamphetamine laboratories. At these sites, authorities seized over 2 million L and more than 400t of chemical precursors, representing an economic loss of hundreds of millions of pesos to criminal organizations.
