Inflation levels. President López Obrador said the recent inflation increase should be of no concern, “Do not to be alarmed.” Furthermore, economists expect this increment to be the last and inflation will start slowly decreasing.

The general inflation rate increased for the second consecutive month in January to 7.91% interannual, above the 7.82% registered in December. Furthermore, the Index of Prices and Quotations (IPC) rose by 0.68% and monthly inflation by 0.59%.

Cuban President To Be Awarded The Mexican government will honor the president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez with the Order of the Aztec Eagle this weekend. This award is the highest honor Mexico gives to foreigners.

The honors will be delivered to President Díaz-Canel in Campeche on February 11 by President López Obrador. Mexico recognizes the Cuban president for strengthening ties between both countries. In addition, both mandataries will visit the Mayan Train.

Moreover, the Mexican government has recognized Cuba’s cooperation by sending doctors to help during the COVID-19 pandemic.
