Inflation in Mexico begins to decrease. President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said inflation has slowed down a bit and said at least it is not increasing anymore Data presented by Ricardo Sheffield, head of PROFECO, show a downward trend in international oil prices, as well as in the maximum and minimum prices pertaining to the 24 basic food basket products and a halt in increases reported by the National Consumer Price Index (INPC) for food and beverages.

The president agreed with basic food basket distributors and producers be sold at MX$1,039 (US$52) and acknowledged Chedraui, Soriana, and Walmart for complying with the agreement in favor of efforts seeking to adverse the effects of inflation. AMLO reflected on the country's need to produce its food. "The major lesson of this crisis is to remind us that we must be self-sufficient and produce in Mexico what we consume."

AMLO addresses negative comments towards his administration by former presidents Ernesto Zedillo and Felipe Calderón. AMLO responded to former President Zedillo's reflections on the "dangers to democracy that are developing  in Mexico," shared at a forum last week. This reflection was also backed up by former President Felipe Calderón. The president called both former presidents hypocrites and recalled the failure of Calderón's "war on drugs", as well as pointing out that he stole the 2006 election from him. "It's a cartoon! They are corrupt people," said the president.

AMLO addresses MORENA’s councilor murder in Jalisco. The president made a brief comment on the assassination of Salvador Llamas Urbina, councilor of MORENA in Jalisco and head of the Potable Water, Drainage and Sewage System (SEAPAL) of Puerto Vallarta. AMLO mentioned that the case is already being investigated. "Apparently, it was an execution, they went after him." Llamas Urbina was murdered on Friday, October 21 at the Sonora Grill restaurant in Guadalajara while he was having dinner. The Jalisco Attorney General's Office attributes the murder to organized crime. Some polls placed Llamas Urbina as a strong Morena party contender for the 2024 governorship. "Our government does not establish relations of complicity with anyone, we have zero corruption and zero impunity tolerance." concluded the president.
