There is a good investment environment in the country: AMLO. President López Obrador stated that Mexico is becoming an economic power. This, after meeting Larry Fink, an American businessman who has invested large sums in the country.

The president said many investments are arriving  "and the economic forecast is that Mexico will grow much more than other countries. There are unique conditions, and Mexico is becoming an economic powerhouse.”  Moreover, he mentioned that Carlos Silm also attended the meeting with Fink as well as other businessmen on Thursday.

Meeting with Pedro Castillo’s Lawyer.  President López Obrador agreed on Friday to meet with Guido Leonardo Croxatto, the lawyer of former Peruvian President Pedro Castillo.

López Obrador considers the removal of Castillo from office last December an injustice.

"Democracy was violated because President Castillo was elected by the people of Peru and was removed from office by non-legal arguments. . He was removed from office by Peru´s elite and international forces," he said.

López Obrador has supported Castillo from the beginning and has called the government of Dina Boluarte "spurious".

Chihuahua asks for the removal of federal forces. President López Obrador said the government of Chihuahua has requested the withdrawal of federal forces who are trying to locate the bodies of the two Jesuit priests and a tourist guide murdered in Cerocahui in June 2022 by Jose Noriel Portillo, also known as El Chueco.

At the morning press conference in the National Palace, Lopez Obrador described the withdrawal proposal as "indecorous," and has not been approved by his administration.

In June 2022, a man running from a hitman sought refuge at a church where the two Jesuit priests were working. When the hitman reached the precincts, he began firing, killing the two priests and the man. The suspect of killing the priests is apparently part of a criminal gang. Jesuit priests condemned the state of violence in the Sierra Tarahumara.
