Plan B of the Electoral Reform.  Minister of Interior Adán Augusto López Hernández announced the main changes at the National Electoral Institute (INE) with the entry into force of the Plan B of the Electoral Reform. Moreover, Augusto López said that the reform has been attacked by the opposition through a strategy based on misinformation. 

The Minister clarified that 5 laws will be reformed: the Law of Electoral Institutions and Procedures, the Law of Political Parties, the Organic Law of the Judicial Power, the Law of Administrative Responsibilities, and the Law of Social Communication. In addition, the Law of Means of Appeal in Electoral Matters will be created with the aim of having one institution in charge of solving appeals during electoral processes. 

Furthermore, he denied the laying off 8,000 workers, nonetheless he recognized that the number of workers will decrease.  

The Institute of Law Investigation of the UNAM analyzed the Plan B of the electoral reform and concluded that it has various unconstitutional amends. 

Plagiarism Accusations against Yasmín Esquivel are Political: AMLO.  President López Obrador attributed the accusations against Yasmín Esquivel of plagiarism to political issues. He said that the accusation started when she announced her aspirations to become president of the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJN). The president said they are waiting for the resolution of the UNAM and that no progress has been done with the case. 

The minister Yasmín Esquivel is being investigated by the UNAM for alleged plagiarism in her bachelor thesis. Recently it was also revealed that she could have plagiarized her doctorate thesis.
