AMLO Criticizes SCJN’s Electoral Reform Ruling.  President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said Minister of the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJN) Javier Laynez exceeded his authority by suspending Plan B of the Electoral Reform.

On Friday, Laynez paused the application of the latest package of legal reforms to electoral matters proposed by the president after INE itself filed a constitutional controversy against its enforcement. On Sunday, the president announced he will challenge the suspension granted by the Minister. He made it clear that his government will continue with the legal path to challenge the Court's decision and said that there is a Plan C to advance the Electoral Reform.

Demand to Lower Fuel Prices. President López Obrador stated that fuel company Valero is taking advantage of customers due to its high costs for gasoline distribution. The president took the opportunity to ask the head of the Federal Consumer Prosecutor's Office (Profeco), Ricardo Sheffield, to speak with Valero to lower its fuel prices.

López Obrador said that subsidies are being provided to Valero so the price of fuel does not increase. He explained that all gasoline station owners are supporting this, acting responsibly, which is why there has not been an increase in fuel prices.

TikTok Use. Despite actions by international governments to ban TikTok over alleged spying, President López Obrador ruled out banning the use of this application in Mexico, stating that "we have no concerns" about it.
