Protected Natural Areas. President López Obrador aims to allot approximately 10,000ha in Baja California Sur, Oaxaca and Quintana Roo as protected natural areas. The president explained that he wants to protect those areas from “theft.”

AIFA Cargo Operations. López Obrador announced a four-month extension for the removal of cargo service from the Mexico City International Airport (AICM). According to the president, Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) boasts a modern system and has the necessary infrastructure for extensive cargo operations.

Moreover, López Obrador said that AICM Is saturated and criticized opponents of the shift to AIFA for opposing every action his government takes. He reported that AICM’s Terminal 2 is being reinforced to prevent collapse. 

Ricardo Monreal. President López Obrador admitted to having had differences with MORENA Senator Ricardo Monreal, a legal professional in favor of Mexico’s Supreme Court, an institution the president criticized for prioritizing the law over “justice.” “Having differences with someone is normal in a democracy,” López Obrador downplayed the issue.
