Asks people not to protect criminals. President López Obrador asked the population not to protect or support criminals, after blockades were reported this weekend in Guanajuato during the attempted arrest of José Antonio “El Marro” Yepez Ortiz. El Marro escaped but the mother and sister of the fuel theft (huachicolero) boss were arrested. “Before the government was at the service of a rapacious minority. Now there is no justification to help a group dedicated to crime,” he said. The president said his administration will guarantee the well-being of the people, so no one is forced to cooperate with criminals.

Uncontrollable situation in Guanajuato. President López Obrador said the federation decided to intervene in Guanajuato because of the serious and uncontrollable situation in the state. “We cannot allow anarchy and disorder, much less allow human lives to be lost. Guanajuato has been in a very serious situation for a long time and we have to act to avoid more bloodshed,” he said regarding the arrest of 26 Santa Rosa de Lima cartel members.

A ‘parallel SAT’ was created. President López Obrador said that the fraud committed against the nation for at least 10 years, involving fake invoices and phony companies, worked like the informal economy. “It was like a parallel SAT, a parallel collection system,” he said. He explained the system provided services to companies of all sizes and to citizens, building a massive fraud against the Treasury (SAT). “We cannot keep silent because we would be covering it up. We will report on how this fraud operated, who was responsible and how many people were victims of these fake invoices,” he said.

New mini road tour this week. President López Obrador said he will embark on a mini road tour this week, including events in Mexico City, State of Mexico and Michoacan. On Wednesday, the morning briefing will be held at the city hall in Mexico City along with Head of Government Claudia Sheinbaum. On Thursday, he will open a hospital in Texcoco, among other activities in State of Mexico. The tour will end on Friday in Morelia, Michoacán, where he will attend the opening ceremony of a new National Guard barracks. This is López Obrador's third road tour since he restarted traveling on June 1.
