Santa Lucia Airport visit. President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said that he would visit the new civilian airport now under construction at the Santa Lucia Air Force Base to inaugurate the air base and other military installations there. "Today, the air base at the new airport will be inaugurated. We will take a plane from Benito Juárez Airport and land at Felipe Ángeles Airport." The airplane being used to transport the president is a Boeing 737 belonging to the Mexican Air Force.

Social Media. AMLO made clear that he does not support Sen. Ricardo Monreal, a member of the president’s Morena party, in his initiative to regulate Mexico’s social media. “It is a controversial issue. I am in favor of not regulating what has to do with the media; so that there is no regulatory mechanism, no censorship. I do not accept censorship.”

COVID-19 vaccine. Responding to a journalist’s question, López Obrador said COVID-19 vaccinations for senior citizens would starting on Sunday when a shipment of AstraZeneca vaccines arrives. “This is excellent news. It is the first shipment, it is estimated that it will arrive from two to three in the morning on Sunday. We will then immediately proceed with its application,” he said. AMLO also mentioned that there would be a new Pfizer shipment, which will allow health officials to complete administering the necessary second dose slated for workers in the health sector.
