Tourism Grows by 7.7%. Minister of Tourism Josefina Rodriguez reported that Mexico reached 51.1 million international travelers from January to June 2026, representing a 7.7% increase compared to 2025. Rodriguez noted that overnight international tourists totaled 24.5 million, a 4.7% rise that generated US$18.781 billion in revenue, alongside 6.6 million cruise passengers. Major air passenger hubs included Mexico City International Airport (AICM) with 22 million passengers, Cancun with 14.8 million, Guadalajara with 9.2 million, Monterrey with 7.6 million, Tijuana with 5.8 million, and AIFA with 3.6 million. Key source markets recorded growth, led by Colombia at 31.5%, Brazil at 19.3%, Japan at 17.1%, Canada at 7.6%, Switzerland at 6%, Australia at 3.8%, and South Korea at 3.5%.

Humanitarian Aid Operations to Colombia. President Claudia Sheinbaum confirmed that two Mexican Air Force (FAM) Hercules aircraft departed for Pereira, Colombia, carrying 854 food baskets, around 19.5t and medical supplies following the Aug.  10, 2026 earthquake. Sheinbaum clarified that while the Ministry of National Defense (SEDENA) rescue brigade remains fully prepared for deployment, its entry awaits authorization from Colombian authorities due to specific certification requirements, adding that humanitarian supply deliveries are proceeding as requested.

ITB Travel Trade Show in Mexico. Rodriguez announced that Mexico will host the ITB Travel Trade Show for the Americas in Guadalajara from Nov. 10 to 12, 2026, marking Mexico's fifth consecutive year hosting the event. Rodriguez also highlighted the National Meeting of Pueblos Mágicos and Community Towns scheduled for Nov. 26 to 29, 2026, and confirmed that Mexico received an invitation to exhibit cultural practices at an international tourism fair in Paris.

Meeting with CNTE Section 22. President Sheinbaum announced an upcoming meeting at the National Palace with leadership from Section 22 of the National Coordinator of Education Workers (CNTE) to address unresolved regional matters from Oaxaca. Sheinbaum stated that the dialogue follows a direct request made during her recent visit to Oaxaca and noted that preventive security measures around the venue do not indicate expected mobilization.

Investigation on Alejandro Moreno. President Sheinbaum commented on ongoing investigations conducted by the Campeche State Attorney General's Office regarding Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) leader Alejandro Moreno, noting that legal procedures fall under the jurisdiction of judicial and legislative authorities. Sheinbaum addressed reports regarding complaints filed by Moreno with US agencies, stating that public officials remain accountable through domestic judicial mechanisms.

Right of Reply on La Mañanera. President Claudia Sheinbaum responded to demands from National Action Party (PAN) lawmakers for right of reply time on the daily press conference, stating that opposition figures maintain access to independent media channels. Sheinbaum reiterated that the daily conference serves as a platform for public information and direct debate.
