Universal Registration for Healthcare. The president announced that, starting in 2027, Mexico will have a unified healthcare system where citizens, whether affiliated with IMSS, ISSSTE, or IMSS-Bienestar, can receive medical care at any health center. She added that the goal is to provide a single health ID for everyone.

“Next January, we will begin the registration process. Every Mexican will be registered in the national health system. Everyone will receive an ID, whether they belong to IMSS, ISSSTE, or IMSS-Bienestar, according to their situation, so medical histories can be shared across the three institutions. The objective is to create a system where, starting in 2027, anyone can receive care at any public health institution,” she explained.

Oct. 2 March in Mexico City. President Claudia Sheinbaum condemned the violence that occurred during the march commemorating the Oct. 2 anniversary. She noted that the so-called “black bloc” aimed to provoke, but emphasized that Mexico City police did not react to these actions.

“You may disagree with the government, but this aggression against journalists must be investigated, and the prosecutor’s office should determine if any individuals can be identified. The call is for peaceful demonstrations. The question all Mexicans should ask is: what do these groups hope to achieve?” she stated.
