For decades, we believed that a great CEO made every critical decision, solved every complex problem, and always had the final word.

Today, I am convinced that leadership has fundamentally changed.

The strongest organizations are no longer built around extraordinary leaders. They are built by extraordinary teams.

The true role of a CEO is not to prove they are the smartest person in the room. It is to create the conditions that allow others to reach their full potential, take ownership of their decisions, and contribute with confidence.

Leadership is not about control. It is about trust.

Mexico's business landscape is experiencing a deep transformation.

For the first time, four generations are working side by side, each bringing different experiences, perspectives, and expectations. This diversity should not be seen as a challenge — it is one of our greatest competitive advantages when united by a shared purpose and guided by inclusive leadership.

The same principle applies to every dimension of diversity. The strongest organizations are those where talent can thrive regardless of age, gender, background, beliefs, or sexual orientation. No one should ever feel the need to hide who they are in order to be recognized for what they contribute.

Inclusion is not a corporate initiative. It is a leadership decision, demonstrated every single day.

We must also redefine our relationship with work. Commitment should never be measured by the number of hours someone spends in an office, but by the value they create, the accountability they demonstrate, and the trust they inspire in others.

When people understand their purpose, have the autonomy to make decisions, and know that their voices matter, they stop simply performing tasks and begin building companies.

That is the leadership we need.

Leadership that develops people instead of creating dependency. That replaces fear with trust. That exchanges control for accountability. That understands diversity drives innovation, respect strengthens organizations, and collective success will always outperform individual recognition.

As business leaders, we carry a responsibility that extends far beyond financial performance.

We shape workplace cultures, influence communities, and help define the future of thousands of people through the organizations we lead.

The companies that will define the next decade will not necessarily be the largest or the most technologically advanced.

They will be the ones that embrace one fundamental truth: Strategies can be replicated. Technology can be acquired. But a culture built on trust, respect, accountability, and shared purpose cannot.

That is the difference between managing a company and building a legacy.
