The Foundation of Entrepreneurs in Mexico (FUNDEMEX), the social arm of the Business Coordinating Council (CCE), launched its Impact Radar platform and signed a collaboration agreement with the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (CEMEFI) to incorporate data from 2,432 companies holding the ESR Socially Responsible Company distinction, significantly expanding the tool’s analytical scope.

The agreement aims to systematize and make visible the private sector’s contribution to Mexico’s social, environmental and economic development through a broader database that includes companies of different sizes, sectors and regions.

Impact Radar is a social intelligence and measurement platform designed to evaluate key corporate responsibility indicators, including social investment, corporate volunteering, materiality, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) criteria, and alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The platform’s first edition analyzes approximately 100 integrated reports from publicly listed companies in Mexico, developed in partnership with the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV) and the Institutional Stock Exchange (BIVA). Through the new agreement, the platform will add statistical information from more than 2,400 ESR-certified companies, expanding the available knowledge base for measuring business impact in Mexico.

Jimena Fernández, General Director, FUNDEMEX, said the platform currently includes data from companies operating in industries such as manufacturing, financial services, materials, consumer goods, health care, telecommunications and utilities. “We already know that 92% contribute to the SDGs, that the social investment made by these 100 companies amounts to MX$9 billion, directly benefiting 100 million people through social programs. In terms of employment, they account for 2 million employees and 533,000 full-time hires.” Fernández said.

The integration of CEMEFI’s data will complement corporate sustainability reports with information from companies across multiple sectors and regions, enabling the development of broader indicators and benchmarking tools related to social, environmental and governance performance.

José Medina, President, CCE, said companies must recognize the socioeconomic realities of the communities where they operate. “Of Mexico’s 130 million inhabitants, 36 million live in poverty, of whom 7 million live in extreme poverty. We cannot be indifferent to that reality,” he said.

Medina added that organizations should assess the living conditions of their lowest-income employees, including income levels, education and household circumstances, as part of their social responsibility strategies.

Evodio Sánchez, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility, CEMEFI, said the collaboration will help companies move beyond measurement toward continuous improvement.

“The alliance between Radar de Impacto and the Distintivo ESR allows us to move from measurement to continuous improvement. It is not only about gathering information, but about generating useful knowledge so that more companies, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, strengthen their social, environmental and governance performance and expand their contribution to the country’s sustainable development,” he said.

FUNDEMEX and CEMEFI said the partnership is intended to strengthen the private sector’s ability to measure, understand and expand its contribution to Mexico’s sustainable development while promoting evidence-based decision-making and greater social, environmental and economic impact.
