Grupo Marva has joined The Climate Pledge, committing to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2040. The move aligns its decarbonization strategy with a growing group of global companies seeking to move faster than the Paris Agreement timeline.

The Climate Pledge requires signatories to measure and report greenhouse gas emissions on a regular basis, implement decarbonization strategies aligned with the Paris Agreement and neutralize any remaining emissions using verified offsets to reach net zero annually by 2040. “This commitment reflects our conviction that sustainability is not optional; it is essential,” Grupo Marva says in a public statement. The company cites investments in electromobility, fleet modernization, route optimization, and digital technologies to reduce emissions and improve operational efficiency.

In 2021, Grupo Marva began investing in heavy-duty electric transport in Mexico and is the country’s largest provider of full truckload services using fully electric vehicles. Its fleet includes 120 electric Class 8 tractor-trailer trucks, each with a range exceeding 420km.

To support this fleet, the company has developed its own network of charging hubs across key logistics corridors, including Tultitlan, Puebla, Civac, Salamanca, Aguascalientes, Guadalajara, and Monterrey. The infrastructure includes ultra-fast chargers offered under a Charging as a Service model, which also allows other fleets to access the network.

These investments have since become a core part of the company’s operations. In July, Grupo Marva and Amazon Mexico announced they had jointly reached 500,000km traveled using a dedicated fleet of 100% electric heavy-duty trucks. The achievement was reached through 30 electric Class 8 tractors deployed as part of a strategic collaboration between Amazon and Grupo Marva. Amazon Mexico framed the collaboration as part of its own commitments as an existing member of The Climate Pledge.

Meanwhile, in March, the company launched the first phase of a fully electric tractor-trailer fleet to support Unilever’s logistics operations in Mexico. The initiative began with five 100% electric Class 8 trucks and was expected to reach 25 units by the end of the year, according to Lorena Martínez, General Director, Deléctrico, Grupo Marva’s electromobility solutions unit. The vehicles operate primarily in the Mexico City metropolitan area, with the ability to extend routes to Puebla and Aguascalientes.

Beyond Amazon and Unilever, Grupo Marva’s also collaborates with 13 additional companies to further Mexico’s sustainable logistics ecosystem. These companies include Nissan, P&G, Ford, and Mercado Libre, among others.
