HSBC, EY Honor Winners of Sustainable Innovation Awards
HSBC Mexico and EY have announced the winners of the fourth edition of the “Leading Companies in Sustainable Innovation” awards, which recognize companies implementing measurable environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategies in Mexico. The awards included categories for Environmental, Social, Governance, and New Economy initiatives, along with an honorary “Mujeres al Mundo” mention. Eligible projects had to demonstrate positive results for at least 12 months prior to the call.
In the Environmental category, three companies were recognized: Aceites Especiales TH for operating a biogas plant and biomass boiler to reduce energy use and emissions; CADU Inmobiliaria for sustainable housing developments incorporating clean mobility and resource-saving solutions; and DeAcero for an energy-efficient process that uses 97% recycled scrap and reintegrates 99% of waste into production.
Social category winners were Universidad Insurgentes and Grupo México Infraestructura, honored for community initiatives and local job creation. In Governance, Innovasport, Arabela, and Braskem Idesa stood out for integrating ESG criteria into corporate structures and policies.
The “Mujeres al Mundo” award went to Heineken Mexico for its “Inspírame” program, which supports women entering the workforce through mentorship and training. NAAT.TECH received an honorary mention for inclusive innovations such as mobile apps for people with disabilities.
