Sustainable lifestyle brand Someone Somewhere has partnered with IKEA Mexico to launch a circular initiative aimed at reducing textile waste and promoting climate-neutral production. As part of the program, IKEA customers can bring textile waste—such as polyester or cotton sheets, pillowcases, and tablecloths—to participating stores through Aug. 31. In exchange, participants receive a coupon worth MX$200 (US$10) for use at IKEA. The collected textiles will then be repurposed into new garments and accessories to be sold in IKEA stores nationwide.

A key feature of the collaboration is Someone Somewhere’s “Circuloom” technology, which transforms textile waste into high-quality products without water or chemicals. The initiative will also create employment for hundreds of artisans specialized in pedal loom weaving.

“With your help, we can give new life to tons of textiles and create dignified jobs for artisan communities,” said Antonio Nuño, Co-founder and CEO, Someone Somewhere. He added that the process allows customers to access environmentally conscious products without compromising on style.

Founded in 2014, Someone Somewhere operates two brick-and-mortar stores in Mexico City and holds B-Corp certification, an internationally recognized distinction for social sustainability, environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.
