Mexico’s Agriculture Ministry (SADER) has launched a nationwide call for participants in the 2025 National Agro‑Innovation Forum, aiming to bring together industry leaders, researchers, agribusinesses and producers to showcase technological advances in agri-food systems and strengthen sector competitiveness. Scheduled for late 2025, the Forum will provide a platform for innovators to present products, pilot projects and research tailored to productivity, sustainability and climate resilience.

SADER’s call invites participation from all segments of the value chain—including the agricultural, livestock, forestry, and fisheries sectors—encouraging involvement from both public research institutes and private enterprises.

According to SADER’s press release, the Forum will pursue several key objectives: accelerating the adoption of digital technologies, biotech solutions, and precision agriculture; facilitating public-private-academic partnerships; and promoting peer-to-peer learning through live demonstrations, technical presentations, and policy engagement sessions. This initiative forms part of a broader strategy to address Mexico’s agricultural development challenges, such as water scarcity, stagnant yields, and global market integration.

The Forum will also offer opportunities for business-to-business networking, including a technology expo, roundtable discussions on commercialization pathways, and matchmaking sessions connecting startups and research teams with commercial partners and investors.

SADER reports that last year’s Forum attracted over 2,000 participants, featured 150 showcases, and resulted in several pilot collaborations now underway. Organizers expect the 2025 edition to increase its impact by incorporating more cross-border partnerships and ensuring stronger representation from smallholder and Indigenous producer groups.

Applications are open through Aug. 15, 2025, via SADER’s official portal. Selected projects will receive logistical support, priority exhibition space in live demo fields, and access to technical mentoring through the Ministry’s research network.
