Telefónica Movistar México has earned its seventh recertification for its Environmental Management System (EMS) under the ISO 14001:2015 standard, reaffirming more than two decades of commitment to responsible environmental management and continuous sustainability improvement.

The company has operated under this international standard since 2004, marking 21 years of adherence to practices that strengthen compliance, prevention, and measurable environmental performance. The ISO 14001:2015 certification, valid for three years, establishes global requirements for implementing effective environmental management systems that enable organizations to identify, control, and reduce their environmental impact.

“Obtaining the ISO 14001:2015 certification means much more than meeting a requirement—it demonstrates that our environmental management is tangible, measurable, and verifiable,” said Natalia Guerra, Director of Public Affairs, Regulation, and Wholesale Business, Telefónica Movistar México. “At Telefónica Movistar México, we believe sustainability must be integrated into every business decision and process.”

In 2025, the company reinforced its environmental strategy through initiatives focused on energy efficiency, emissions reduction, and circular economy practices. Efforts include optimizing electricity consumption, increasing the use of renewable energy, and promoting the recovery and reuse of electronic materials through its VEMA program.
