According to the OCC Report 2025, 12% of the companies in Mexico have incorporated AI in HR processes, while 24% plan to follow suit in 2025. The analysis highlights AI-driven recruitment and automated candidate selection as the dominant trend. There is still opportunity to grow these numbers, however, as in the United States, 65% of HR departments report using AI for recruitment processes.

"AI is gaining ground in recruitment processes," states David Centeno, Deputy Director of Strategic Planning, OCC, through a LinkedIn post. In 2024 alone, 65% of HR professionals in the United States confirmed using AI for recruitment, interviews, and hiring, as well as for generating job descriptions, according to Statista. In Mexico, Accenture has positioned as one of the pioneering companies in the adoption of Generative AI. This initiative reflects the company's commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology to enhance business capabilities and industry transformation, as reported by Accenture Mexico.

44% of companies aim to leverage AI for automated candidate selection, reports OCC. Companies in Mexico primarily seek to employ AI in the early stages of recruitment, such as the initial candidate screening. However, interest declines when it comes to applying AI in training and professional development programs, as this represents the lowest percentage among planned AI-driven processes.

Meanwhile, other key processes in HR where AI is being used include:

  • 38% Candidate selection through CV analysis and interviews

  • 32% Automation of repetitive administrative tasks

  • 27% Chatbots and virtual assistants to enhance employee experience

  • 26% Turnover and retention analysis to predict talent attrition

According to the OCC report, one of the biggest challenges for most companies is talent retention (for over 60% of the companies surveyed), while for medium-sized businesses, training programs are a key concern (50%). A LinkedIn Learning study highlights that personalized training remains a global top concern, particularly as emerging technologies drive increased demand for rapid upskilling and reskilling of employees. Integrating Generative AI into training programs could help address the evolving technological landscape and changing work dynamics.

“Learning Experience Platforms (LXPs) offer personalized learning experiences and training that address these variations efficiently and at scale, taking into account how employees want to learn,” explains LinkedIn Learning. According to WalkMe, the Digital Adoption Platform based in US, LXP platforms powered by AI and machine learning optimize content recommendations and customize learning paths in real-time; they analyze learner behavior to anticipate needs and provide adaptive, personalized learning experiences. LXP’s aided with AI are a successful path for training program challenges.
