ILO Unveils Interactive Country Profiles for Real-Time Labor Data

The International Labour Organization (ILO) has released a redesigned version of its country profiles on ILOSTAT, offering continuously updated, interactive overviews of labor markets and decent work indicators for each member state.

“The new country profiles make ILO statistics more accessible to everyone,” says Rafael Diez de Medina, Chief Statistician and Director of the Department of Statistics, ILO. “They provide an overview of labor markets and decent work conditions across countries, helping policymakers and citizens transform data into useful information.”

The new tool reflects the ILO’s commitment to improving access to reliable labor statistics through open, transparent, and user-friendly digital platforms. Each profile presents a visual snapshot of the world of work through interactive charts that track trends in employment, unemployment, wages, informality, and other key decent work indicators.

The data on each profile is automatically updated as new information is added to ILOSTAT, ensuring that policymakers, researchers, and the public can access the latest and most reliable statistics in real time. This approach supports evidence-based decision-making and provides a consistent view of how labor markets are evolving across different regions.

The launch is part of a broader modernization effort by the ILO’s Department of Statistics to expand access to labor market information through new tools, data services, and visualizations. These initiatives aim to make official statistics more relevant to current labor realities and easier to interpret for both technical and general audiences.

The initiative also aligns with recent collaboration between the ILO Department of Statistics and the United Nations Statistics Division, which integrates ILO data into the new UN Data Platform.
