LinkedIn has announced a US$3 million commitment to support nonprofit organizations that are developing AI solutions aimed at improving workforce access and economic inclusion.

“At LinkedIn, we are particularly passionate about how AI can transform workforce development and education, advancing our vision to create economic opportunity for every member of the global workforce,” says Meg Garlinghouse, Vice President Social Impact, LinkedIn.

The company’s new initiative, called the Future of Work Fund, seeks to address the rapid pace at which AI is reshaping the global labor market. According to LinkedIn, 70% of the skills required to perform jobs will change within the next five years, a trend largely driven by the adoption of AI tools across industries.  By the end of 2025, 23% of employees are expected to change their profession or field of expertise due to AI advances; and 93% of employees are willing to participate in upskilling or reskilling programs to adopt AI technologies in the workplace, reports HAYS.

“Technology, especially AI, is here to help everyone,” says Axel Suvalski, CRO and Co-Founder, Lara AI, to MBN. “Businesses that fail to adopt these technologies will be left behind.”

To help workers adapt, LinkedIn’s Future of Work Fund will support nonprofit groups already leveraging AI to provide new pathways to employment, particularly for underserved populations. Among the initial recipients are Karya, CareerVillage.org, and Beyond12, organizations that focus on issues such as access to remote job opportunities, career coaching, and educational support.

The fund aims to strengthen projects that use AI to increase access to skills development and improve job matching, especially for workers in vulnerable or rural communities. Examples of supported initiatives include using Generative AI to expand career counseling services and developing localized solutions for employment access.

This new investment builds on LinkedIn’s broader strategy to integrate AI across its platform. Recent features include AI-assisted learning courses and job matching tools that assess a candidate’s fit for specific roles based on their skills profile.

The company also highlighted its ongoing support for nonprofit leaders by offering access to more than 150 AI Skills Pathways — online learning resources designed to help organizations and individuals build foundational knowledge in AI. These resources are available through July 2025.

As part of its broader social impact efforts, LinkedIn will continue engaging with the nonprofit community through the Future of Work Fund and its LinkedIn Social Impact platform, where updates and insights on AI for inclusion will be shared.
