Enhanced economic and mental support are essential for empowering mothers and leveraging their potential as a means to diversify the workforce. These actions are necessary considering the current focus of companies on achieving greater workplace diversity.

"Hiring mothers brings a unique set of skills and abilities that can be invaluable to any business. By recognizing and nurturing these talents, companies can foster a win-win situation that propels growth and empowers working mothers,” says Regina Cabal, Co-Founder, Momlancers.

Mothers have the potential to fuel business expansion by tapping into their unique skill sets and proficiencies. They bring a diverse range of abilities to the workplace, including exceptional multitasking, problem-solving prowess, resilience in high-pressure situations, empathetic communication, and a strong work ethic. Moreover, incorporating them into the workforce can positively impact a company's public image and standing. By providing the essential support and resources, organizations can establish a symbiotic environment that benefits both the company and working mothers, fostering growth and success.

However, despite the advantages of hiring mothers, many still voice concerns about fair pay, limited flexibility and a lack of intentional support for their mental health and overall well-being.

According to reports, 64% of women have voiced a need for flexible work arrangements, underscoring the importance of accessible and affordable child care. The same reports have also revealed that mothers encounter substantial mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression and postpartum depression, prompting 46% of them to actively seek mental health services. Additionally, it is frequently observed that women face repercussions for pregnancy, childbirth and being working mothers, which is detrimental both to employers and the well-being of mothers.

According to Richmond Times, initiating a dialogue with the aim of implementing impactful changes that offer improved opportunities for working mothers is of utmost significance.
