In Mexico, it is estimated that 15% of the population has a neurodivergent condition. Meanwhile, studies have shown that people on the autism spectrum can be up to 140% more productive.
Youth Unemployment Key Challenge for LATAM: ILO
Despite recovery following the COVID-19 crisis, structural inequalities persist, affecting young people in the labor market. According to the International Labor Organization’s (ILO) report on Youth Employment in Latin America and the Caribbean, the youth unemployment rate in the region remains three times higher than that of adults, with a high percentage (60%) of young people employed under informal conditions.
Senate Pushes Reforms to Fight Workplace Harassment
The Senate has introduced new initiatives aimed at aligning the country’s labor laws with the International Labour Organization’s (ILO) Convention 190, which seeks to address workplace violence and harassment, including gender-based violence. These proposals, introduced by two senators in February, aim to provide a legal framework to fight such issues in the workplace.
