STPS, IMSS Urge REPSE Companies to Regularize Social Security
Over 14,000 companies registered in the Public Registry of Specialized Contractors (REPSE) have not met social security obligations, report the Mexican Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS) and the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS). These institutions are urging the companies to review and regularize their social security status with the IMSS.
“Failure to fulfill fiscal or social security obligations can result in the cancellation of REPSE registration and fiscal penalties,” the agencies stated in a joint release.
The REPSE system was created to regulate and supervise contractors providing specialized services or works, ensuring that companies meet labor and social security responsibilities. The effort is part of the federal government’s ongoing commitment to enforce labor rights and improve social security compliance nationwide.
To assist companies in resolving irregularities, the IMSS offers several support channels, including a dedicated phone line. Additionally, companies can visit local IMSS subdelegations to access detailed information about outstanding fiscal credits and regularize their status during business hours.
