Previously, content related to the use of artificial intelligence was limited to science fiction. Movies whose plot involved AI belonged to the Sci-Fi genre, and art did not have any brushstrokes from an intelligence other than human, but there was always a human author behind it.

From my point of view, books, movies, and life itself have shown us that there is always some reality in fiction (or even a lot, I would say). So, if we keep believing in the story that fiction has sold us, the discussions around AI will be a matter for the fields of humanities or social sciences. I don't have a clear answer at the moment, but what I am sure of is that faster than we realize, AI has taken its natural transit to settle into the — sometimes resistant — human mind. Uncertainty, fears, and doubts have been topics of conversation in recent years (and months), but behind all of this, there is also a strange but promising optimistic view of the future of life with a collaborator like AI.

Several generations have passed since these first fatalistic impressions, so those of us who are now on the path — including myself — that has been paved (thank you for that) have the responsibility to face what is coming with a positive outlook.  Let me explain why.

First, I want to share a reflection that, thanks to my experimentation with my teams, I can now say is my first argument for why I feel we must see the positive side of the AI revolution. If we examine it very closely and take a moment to think about the basics, we are granting AI a sense of uniqueness regarding its capabilities, but humans have known how to do these things with greater accuracy and for a much longer time: calculate, analyze, conclude, think, imagine.

This is clearly a starting point for estimating how AI will enhance our work capabilities but not replace them. According to this scenario, the capacity of AI to transform the way people and companies do things and carry out processes is extraordinary. We should look at it like this: a powerful tool that we can take advantage of.

I must mention the very fortunate experience we have had at Skydropx with the incorporation of AI technologies like machine learning. Our Machine Learning Models development culture is based on the 70/30 methodology, where 70% of the time is spent on analyzing variables and data, which we consider our most critical phase to achieve project success, and the other 30% is spent on training, calibrating, and putting it into production.

This project has been led by the data engineering team, which knows how to take advantage of the possibilities of this technology and reach new levels of innovation. At this point, I want to stop and highlight the work that humans do; without rigorous research and immersion in a deep and highly exploitable technology, we would not have a result as powerful as being our customers' preferred choice, which allows us to take actions to offer them services and tools that are within our development reach. That is why our data engineering team welcomed AI some time ago as a new member that has responsibilities, tasks, and projects under its charge, like everyone else. However, it does not work individually, but is complementary and collaborative to optimize work, improve results, and take on ever greater challenges.

On the other side of data and engineering, we have a universe in which the company’s support of AI may be more questionable: creative processes.

At Skydropx, we have a multidisciplinary team that creates every day. Creation is susceptible to being analyzed critically when supported by tools that facilitate the process. Our position in this case is no different from that for   our engineering teams: AI is available to them so they can take advantage of it. That's why we started experimenting with the integration of AI in the development processes of graphic material and written content, with the aim of making the exercise of relying on AI inspiring, and it definitely has been.

We understand that creativity is trained, and with our design and content teams, we are willing to take that training as far as technology allows us. By interacting with AI, we have learned that inspiration is one of the most human tools in our toolbox, but that inspiration also lies in knowing how to ask an artificial intelligence to act in our favor to streamline processes and gain time that we can invest in creating more ideas that only our human capacity could bring to reality.

Clearly, we have many opportunities to optimize results in less time and we are achieving it just like other tech companies that are joining in. I hope that this momentum  and motivation to continue conquering new challenges with the help of AI always keep us expectant and leave us with great lessons in every attempt.

Finally, I want to share with you my desire to see AI as a great opportunity to improve processes and to ensure that in every project we implement with AI contributions, there is the mark of what technology could not give us: a real purpose. Our purpose at Skydropx can only be fulfilled by human teams.
