Innovation and Experience Together Utopia or Reality?
STORY INLINE POST
One of the things I enjoy the most about all our locations is that our teams are made of all ages, types, genders, and religions. Real diversity is everywhere on our international team. You can see a “twenty-something” professional teaming with a “fifty-something,” innovating together and getting the best of the accumulated expertise and experience.
The result is an awesome mix of business creativity and technical innovation in areas like AI, cloud solutions, data science and cybersecurity, backed by 30 years of experience and expertise coming from our shareholders and founders.
Millennials and Generation X working together? Yes, It is a challenge to have this plurality of colors developing together; however, our organizational culture permeates everything we do. This results in a large, multicolored window full of different nuances that generate value for all our stakeholders.
Young people are increasingly prepared and trained, and they have a great capacity to innovate and to adapt to changing environments and ecosystems. They are drivers of innovation due to their energy and dynamism; they are key to business transformation since they are adaptable and resilient. Due to their diverse thinking, the young population generates more creative and effective solutions. They have grown up with digital technology. Young people also show great interest in commitments to social and environmental responsibility.
Providing mentoring opportunities from experienced generations, development programs and assigning them challenges are ways to support their leadership within the organization.
Having an inclusive culture, valuing diversity, providing a collaborative environment, recognizing the achievements of its members, as well as having a culture of continuous feedback considerably increase their commitment and productivity, ensuring a bright and successful future for the organization as a whole.
At Beyond Technology, our ethics committee is made up of young people who provide recommendations appropriate to their age; there is no one over 35 years old. It is very interesting because you are evaluating with new eyes a society that is changed and has different ways of thinking.
One of our global directors, who is in charge of transforming all processes and systems, as well as our marketing director are both young., I trust that they fulfill their functions very well and what we agree on gets done. With our newer young people, we do not have to be on top of them to ensure they carry out their activities.
Gender, time, youth, adaptation. The mix is very important because you must maintain the company’s culture.
In leadership, there must also be many young people who have initiative and drive. We have a program that measures the ability to solve things with in-depth studies, as well as how well you are doing in your results. It is more difficult for those of us with more experience to do this on time, but young people do it very quickly.
I am fortunate to work with so many young people because they force me to use technology, to have a different mentality, to understand. All of this is experienced with young people.
This new culture and way of being will not end; there is a long way to go. Where are we going? I don't know, but it is about listening, being open-minded, changing, and breaking paradigms.
