Pentera, a cybersecurity unicorn based in Israel that specializes in automated security validation, is expanding in Latin America with the opening of local offices in Mexico and Brazil, according to a company press release. While Pentera is already serving dozens of customers across six Latin American countries, the company aims to further reach and assist more clients and partners in the region by establishing a physical presence.

"Recent research reveals that cyberattacks in Latin America grew by 29% in 2022," said Patrick Guay, Americas SVP Sales, Pentera. "Our automated platform is enabling organizations to continuously validate their security at a rate and scale not previously possible. Expanding our presence with offices in Latin America will enable us to more effectively serve customers and partners in the region to improve their cyber readiness."

Pentera's interest in the Latin American market follows an impressive growth and traction of almost 300% in North American businesses since the beginning of 2020, according to a company press release. The company has been doubling its business year-over-year since 2020 and has now over 750 customers in 45 countries worldwide. Pentera's outstanding growth rate can be attributed to the disruption in the global managed security service providers (MSSPs) market that necessitated remote capabilities.

In 2022, Pentera achieved unicorn status based on its unique approach to cybersecurity validation, which relies on real-world attack emulation to bridge the "perpetual lag in cyberthreat detection, remediation and mitigation." The automated solution continuously challenges existing cybersecurity controls at scale to discover exploitable gaps across all attack surfaces, providing security teams with actionable reports to reduce exposure and benchmark their security over time.

"As a leading provider of IT solutions in Mexico, we are excited to partner with Pentera to bring its innovative security validation platform to the market," says Adolfo Espinosa Ramírez, Director, Microsoft BU, Datavision. "Pentera's platform will be an excellent addition to our suite of solutions and will help our customers quickly identify and prioritize their security vulnerabilities, thus reducing their risk exposure."

Gabriela Valdés and Ana Cerqueira, who bring over 15 years of proven results in sales and channel development, have been elected to oversee the regional expansion effort. They will be primarily tasked with creating a regional partner program similar to the one in North America.
