Rappi celebrated this week its alliance with Barcel and Alacua to bring NFTs closer to more people in Mexico. Meanwhile, Mercado Libre will end the year with an investment of up to US$1.5 billion in Mexico, which will be used mainly for logistical infrastructure.

Rappi Bets on NFTs 

Rappi celebrates an alliance with Barcel and Alacua, looking to take the digital world and its benefits closer to more users. With Alacua, each Rappi user can open a Wallet where one of nine Non-Fungible Token (NFT) designs launched by Barcel will be stored. 

Mercado Libre Ends 2022 With US$1.5 Billion Investment in Mexico 

Latin American tech giant Mercado Libre will end 2022 with an investment of US$1.5 billion in Mexico, its second largest market. David Geisen, General Director, Mercado Libre said in an interview that 2022 was a historic year regarding investments and announced that a large part of that made in Mexico will be directed toward logistical infrastructure. 

Aviva Addresses Exclusion From Financial Products in Remote Communities 

The Mexico-based fintech startup Aviva focuses on bringing working capital to underserved communities. In Mexico, around 40 million people are excluded from certain financial products because banks do not think they are a segment worth entering. Aviva works to address lack of trust in banks, predatory interest rates and helps users without technical abilities.
