Businesses and cybersecurity experts have been incessantly challenged to continually innovate preventative protocols in response to increasingly sophisticated, coordinated and longer lasting threats. To elaborate on adapting cybersecurity threats, Mexico Business News has invited industry leaders from Telmex, Christus Muguerza and the Association of Mexican Banks (ABM) to share their observations and strategies to respond to these threats.

Mexican companies have been working around the clock over the past few years, attempting to accelerate the incorporation of new technologies while building cybersecurity protocols in tandem. At the receiving end of over 427 million cyberattacks, companies would quickly realize that they were outmatched and would have to defer to cybersecurity experts. With this shift, Mexico has become a strategic target and market opportunity for cybercriminals and cybersecurity experts alike.

During this time, just as cybersecurity experts have made significant advances in the development of preventative practices and protocols, cybercriminals have continued to mine for exploitable pain points and enhance their offensive strategies. In an attempt to get ahead of one another, both security experts and cybercriminals have employed artificial intelligence and machine learning to increase their effectiveness. For cybercriminals, this has led to the development of more elaborate and effective cyberattacks such as DDoS, Zero-day and SQL injection attacks.

In an expanding digital economy, cybersecurity has become a fundamental necessity for daily operations and long-term market permeance. This is true for companies, small businesses, government institutions and private citizens, which in the eyes of cybercriminals are all fair game. To be cybersafe in an increasingly hostile digital environment requires the constant generation of intelligence to recognize adversarial tactics and strategy, which will be covered by Mexico Business’ invited guests.

Mexico Business hosts conferences on Mexico’s most important industries. In 2021, the company welcomed 2,136 industry-shaping companies and 758 leading speakers to 13 industry-leading conferences. Hosted on Zoom, Mexico Cybersecurity Summit will break geographical barriers and welcome global industry leaders while reducing COVID-19 related risks or possible outbreaks.
