With the growing acceptance of cryptocurrencies and the accelerated development of Web3, SoftBank Group Operator School (SBOS) found it necessary to curate an education program on their foundations and applications. SBOS's educative series was designed to teach founders, investors and stakeholders the regulatory context and skills they will need to unlock Web3 business models, according to a company’s press release.

“The SoftBank Group Operator School delivers content to help accelerate the growth of technology startups–and this time it will focus on the foundations of blockchain and crypto and the opportunities Web3 unlocks,” said Laura Gaviria Halaby, Operating Lead, SoftBank Latin America Funds. “We know the importance of startups learning from each other, which is why SBOS offers a platform to help the next generation of tech startups make an impact.”

The masterclass will be instructed by twenty leading Web3 industry experts that will cover themes ranging from digital currencies and blockchain to new financing models and even the metaverse. The online classes will take place Mondays and Thursdays from 12pm – 1pm (ET), from June 20 through August 25. Supplementing these courses, for the first time, SBOS will be hosting in-person networking opportunities in Miami, Mexico and Brazil.

These courses stand to provide much needed clarity regarding the theoretical foundations, roadblocks and rapidly evolving regulatory framework of this emerging market. Web3 grew almost 44 percent year over year in 2021, according to Emergen Research, making it clear that companies need to sharpen their understanding of this market to develop their strategic route-to-market. Considering that Web3 is principled on decentralized ecosystem infrastructure, and therefore the destruction of the status-quo, companies will need to formulate entire new business models.

“Many changes will occur with power returning to smaller developers and independent users. One of the more noticeable changes that will be shocking to most users is that many services built for Web3 will become paid services,” said Fran Villalba Segarra, CEO, Internext.

The SBOS program is open to anyone that registers by June 19 and does not require any prior knowledge or experience of Web3 or crypto. Masterclasses from Seasons 1 and 2, which focus on tech startup growth, operations and venture fundraising, are available to watch on demand at softbankgroupoperatorschool.com.
