Aguascalientes Advances Investment, Technology Ties With India
Aguascalientes strengthened its international outreach this month by promoting new routes for investment and technology transfer during a business mission to India, where state authorities positioned the region as a strategic partner for North American value chains in sectors such as automotive, information technology, advanced manufacturing and agricultural machinery.
Governor Tere Jiménez said global interest in the state continues to rise as companies pursue competitive locations to expand. “The world is turning its eyes to Aguascalientes,” she said, noting that India increasingly views the state as a platform for integrating companies into regional supply chains. Existing Indian investment from groups such as Rane and TAFE, she added, underscores confidence in the state’s talent, logistics and innovation ecosystem.
The agenda included meetings aimed at boosting higher education partnerships, research collaboration and workforce development. State officials met with Govi Chezhiaan, Tamil Nadu’s Minister of Higher Education, to expand academic cooperation, promote student exchanges and enhance technology-focused education between institutions in both countries. The effort seeks to elevate human capital, accelerate research and development, and strengthen ties between industry and academia.
In a separate meeting with TRB Rajaa, Tamil Nadu’s Minister of Industries, Investment Promotion, and Commerce, the delegation discussed industrial policy and potential strategic alliances to deepen Mexico–India cooperation. Officials said these efforts could support projects with higher local content, stronger supplier networks and expanded production capabilities in Aguascalientes.
The delegation included Esaú Garza of the state’s Ministry of Economic Development, Science and Technology; Mariana Isabel Pérez; and Rabindranath García, who presented the state’s advantages in modern infrastructure, skilled labor and a business environment designed to provide certainty for global investors.
The Aguascalientes team also met with executives from RANE, LUCAS TVS, TAFE and Simpson, showcasing opportunities to establish or expand operations oriented toward the North American market. Officials highlighted the state’s efficient logistics network and pool of specialized talent.
A seminar with Indian companies further outlined investment opportunities in automotive, technology and innovation. State leaders said the strategy is designed to generate high-value jobs, strengthen technology transfer and position Aguascalientes as a global development hub anchored in education, innovation and industry.
