Sustainable Manufacturing Through Water Management

Audi’s plant located in San José Chiapa, Puebla is the 12th plant constructed by Audi outside Europe and first in the American continent. This segment plant is responsible for the entire manufacturing process which places the plant at the vanguard of premium plants across the continent with a capacity of 150,000 units each year and creating over 20,000 indirect jobs. In this plant, Audi has put forth a “Mission:Zero” sustainability plan which focuses on decarbonization, biodiversity, resource efficiency and water recycling. Since the very beginning of the planning phase of the project, Audio has taken advantage of the vast amounts of rain each year by creating an on-site lagoon in the plant which they use for their processes.
