Service digitization is reaching all industries. Delving into the natural gas sector, the Waddi app allows users to place LPG orders in an “uber-like” fashion. The app is designed to connect LPG delivery drivers with customers in need of gas to make the process more convenient and efficient.

The app is available in four major cities: Mexico City, Guadalajara, Leon and Aguascalientes. According to Energy Debate, the app will expand to Acapulco, Monterrey and Merida. It provides the user with real-time information on the status of the service, such as tracking, and provides a consumption control, rating system and payment method.

The app is an extension of “OKBOY,” which is known for specializing in-home services such as laundry, home cleaning and gas delivery. At present, OKBOY has completed 17,000 gas services with an average time delivery of two hours. Jennifer Reyna, Co-Founder and CEO, Waddi, says the company is working to enhance the consumer experience in terms of delivery time, problem-solving and route management for gas companies. It is also banking on the growing demand for LPG gas, which, according to Technavio, will reach a CAGR of 3.81% by 2027, driven by the need for a clean fuel that can support technological advancements, while remaining cost-efficient.

“We packaged all the technology of our marketplace and we made it available to connect their sales, operations, management  and delivery areas to make the ‘uberization’ of gas a very simple process,” said Reyna during an interview with Energía a Debate.

“Our goal is that people no longer have to dial to request gas,” says Reyna. The idea is for the platform to be an integral service that reminds users when it is time to reload, how much the charge will be and the delivery schedule.
