According to COFEPRIS, more than 10.6 million people go to pharmacy-adjacent clinics (PACs) every month. Today, there are more than 16,000 PACs throughout the country. Consultations at a price between MX$20 and MX$50 (US$1-2.50) turned PACs into an accessible and popular health option for the Mexican population. Supermarkets are also becoming an increasingly strong players in the health sector through in-house clinics and partnerships with large pharmacy chains, which opens the door to more competition in the pharmacy and medication distribution sector.
