Women working in the mining sector report salaries 76% higher than the national average, according to CAMIMEX. While this is a positive indicator for the mining sector, industry insiders believe there is still significant progress needed to achieve gender parity. In other news, base metals have shown positive performance at the London Metal Exchange (LME) this week, mainly attributed to a reduction in the supply side from Asian players.

Salaries for women participating in the mining value chain are 76% higher than the national average, reported CAMIMEX. The chamber stresses the importance of promoting gender parity within the sector as female participation is increasing, however, challenges persist.
