Fight against corruption. President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said that the government has made important progress in the fight against corruption and assured that there is no corruption in his government. López Obrador explained that there were some complaints and cases of corruption; however, they have not been left unpunished. “I have just seen some graphs on the perception of corruption and they are quite satisfactory in what corresponds to the federal government, the police, the Army and Navy. I am glad that Mexicans trust in our government."

Murder of 15 people in Tamaulipas. López Obrador said that the murder of 15 people in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, seeks to provoke the government and announced that he has asked Minister of Security and Citizen Protection Rosa Icela Rodríguez to report on the case. “It was a very reprehensible act of provocation. It is important to clarify that we cannot speak lightly of terrorism. This must be approached very carefully.”

Narco-government in Michoacan? López Obrador asked Michoacan Gov. Silvano Aureoles to present evidence that Gov.-elect Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla of the MORENA party will impose a narco-government. "That must be proven. The most important thing is that evidence is presented, because if not, it is fake news."

AMLO: Line 12 of the Mexico City Metro will be operational in no more than a year. López Obrador assured that Line 12 of the Mexico City Metro will resume operations in one year at the latest. “We are already doing a full review. I can tell the people of Tlahuac, Iztapalapa and Chalco, those who use this system, that with all certainty that the line will be ready no later than 2022.” López Obrador added that investigations continue to find those responsible for the collapse of an overpass that killed and injured scores of people and to repair the damages caused to the victims and their families.

Universal pension. López Obrador announced that he will receive a universal pension card during his morning conference and explained that this universal pension is for all older people, regardless of their financial position. “This pension is not only for the poor;, it is for all older adults.
