In recent years, artificial intelligence (AI) has experienced a revolution that has impacted various spheres of our lives, including the workplace. From automating repetitive tasks to making complex decisions, AI has significantly transformed our work routine.

What was once a mere support tool has now become a central player in process optimization and strategic decision-making across a wide variety of industries. The creation of deep learning algorithms and access to large volumes of data have driven this transformation, allowing companies to harness the potential of AI to improve efficiency and productivity.

In this context, employees play a crucial role, as they are required to acquire specific skills to develop, implement and manage AI solutions, but also to fill new research and development job roles in the field.

Therefore, it is important to understand the feelings of the workers regarding AI, given conflicting opinions. According to a survey we conducted at OCC at the end of 2023, around half of the respondents stated that they already use this technology in their work; some see it as an opportunity, while others see it as a threat. In fact, 43% believe that AI will replace many jobs, 38% think it will support the development of current jobs and 12% mentioned that it will have a positive impact by generating new job opportunities.

Likewise, when asked about the advantages they perceive of using AI tools at work, 48% stated that it is the automation of various processes, 30% said that AI simplifies some daily tasks and another 14% accepted that it stimulates innovation and strengthens creativity.

The survey also showed us if the Mexicans surveyed feel prepared to face the changes that AI can bring to the world of work: 55% said that they do feel prepared, 24% are not ready, 17% are not sure and 3% indicated that AI is not necessary for their industry.

When talking about the reasons why AI benefits them in their current job or in the search for a new one, respondents said that they can focus on more relevant tasks while technology takes care of operational and routine tasks. In addition, they say that AI can make work processes more effective and with fewer errors and allows them to stay updated on new technologies, while also mentioning that it helps them in their job search by prioritizing vacancies that match their profile.

As for the reasons why they believe AI could harm them, they include possible discrimination when applying for a job position due to the filtering of candidates before meeting them one on one. They also point out that AI is not personalized enough in responding to job applications.

In any case, the need to develop skills and competencies for the management of artificial intelligence is clear, since 69% of workers consider it essential.

Analyzing the business side, let us remember that the amount of information that all of us generate daily becomes a valuable source to improve artificial intelligence models and be of significant use to corporations. Thanks to big data, technology can learn more complex and precise patterns, identify correlations and trends, allowing organizations to anticipate changes, optimize processes and make better decisions.

In this way, the combination of these technologies opens great possibilities for innovation and efficiency in various areas and sectors; in this context, job searches are no exception, which is why job search and recruitment, through technological platforms, have become a comprehensive ecosystem of job opportunities for the future that already integrate solutions based on artificial intelligence and that are going to revolutionize the way people find work and companies find their talent.

Through advanced tools and services, online job boards simplify job searches and recruiting. Imagine the potential of big data with a data universe of 1,700 job positions published per day, 200,000 applications and support of 1.5 million requests per month. With this large amount of information, improving search algorithms, using the potential that AI offers, the precision and efficiency in matching talent with job opportunities is improved.

In this way, organizations must leverage artificial intelligence tools strategically and ethically, while committing to protecting and developing human talent in today's labor market. This means investing in training and skills development programs for employees, focusing on those skills, especially soft skills, which are difficult to automate, such as creativity, complex problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
