Grupo Modelo celebrated the dedication of 27 “Corona Legends", employees who have contributed over 40 years to the company. The recognition ceremony at the Modelo Brewery vividly demonstrates the company’s unwavering dedication to acknowledging and appreciating its employees. In doing so, the company cultivates a culture of happiness among its workforce, ultimately making a profound impact on overall productivity, as attested to in a press release.

"Attracting and retaining exceptional talent is paramount for us. At Grupo Modelo, we are dedicated to cultivating the ongoing progress of our cherished Mexico, and we do so through our outstanding workforce—individuals who not only dream big but also transform what may seem impossible into reality,” said Cassiano de Stefano, President, Grupo Modelo.

The brewing sector constitutes 1.5% of Mexico's total Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and is responsible for creating 55,000 direct jobs. Within this sector, Grupo Modelo stands out by contributing over 30,000 jobs, positioning itself as a key leader within the industry. Furthermore, the company is renowned for its robust corporate reputation, securing third place of 200 companies in the ranking of Merco Talento. This ranking measures and recognizes the best companies for attracting and retaining the best talent in Mexico.

"Observing the tangible outcomes of (the employees’) efforts fills me with great pride. Knowing that they will leave an indelible mark that will stand as an example for future generations of Modelo collaborators is truly rewarding," said Dicky Saa, Vice President of People, Grupo Modelo.  These sentiments align with insights unveiled in the 2023 Great Place to Work survey of 700,000 participants. Their findings emphasized that acknowledging employee’s contributions not only enhances engagement but cultivates the culture of talent retention.

These finds were reinforced by a Medium study, which highlights that robust employee recognition programs significantly contribute to employee happiness, especially when compared to workplaces with less or no recognition initiatives. Research from the University of Warwick also indicates that happy employees demonstrate approximately 12% higher productivity. Grupo Modelo's dedication to recognizing its workforce reflects a broader shift in the modern business landscape towards prioritizing employee satisfaction.
