Google made waves in Mexico City this Wednesday with a presentation on the addition of cloud-accessible, generative AI Models to its catalog of technological tools. The event underscored Google's strides in leveraging AI to enhance business operations and offered insights into its responsible approach to the adoption of these technologies. During the event Julio Velázquez, General Director, Google Cloud Mexico, emphasized the company's commitment to informing the digital transformation of organizations with their variety of AI-powered tools.

According to Velázquez, Google’s AI Models have the potential to optimize efficiency across various industries. From generating images from text to simplifying app development, Google’s AI tools are set to redefine work processes. For instance, Google Cloud's collaboration with Algorithia resulted in prototypes and AI-powered solutions that enhance customer service and real-time content creation. Meanwhile, Uber is utilizing Google's AI Models to improve customer satisfaction by employing service chatbots to swiftly address common issues. Mayo Clinic and Canva are also embracing this transformation, enhancing medical information searches and enabling multilingual translation of visual content.

"Enabling broader access to generative AI signifies unlocking novel business prospects. According to Gartner, by 2025, 35% of marketing messages from major organizations will be synthetically generated using AI, in contrast to the 2% generated in 2022. While the potential for economic impact is substantial, we are committed to embracing a responsible approach that enables organizations to innovate and cultivate entirely new revenue streams," says Velázquez.

Google’s “Privacy First” philosophy effectively addressed general concerns regarding data privacy within AI tools. In its presentation, Velázquez assured users that the company would never store their data for exploitation. He also highlighted that the ongoing AI race is not just about speed, but about responsible usage. While companies around the world wait for the application of AI regulations and policies, Google is leading the way by offering training programs that educate users on responsible AI utilization, says Velázquez.

Furthermore, Google Cloud's AI tools are designed to empower developers to tackle critical challenges directly. For example, Google's Vertex AI platform will empower Machine Learning scientists and engineers to streamline their operations within a unified interface, facilitating application development with Vertex's AI Vision and enhancing data consolidation with the help of Vertex's AI Workbench. Moreover, Google's AI Model Registry is expected to foster open collaboration between data scientists and developers, effectively incentivizing Open Innovation practices within the technological industry.

These advancements led by Google Cloud hold immense promise for various industries and offer substantial financial potential. According to Next Move Strategy Consulting, while the market value of AI amounted to nearly US$100 billion during 2021, it is expected to reach US$1.8 trillion by 2030. Google Cloud is already capitalizing on this technological trend, effectively serving 70% of unicorn startups currently operating around the world with their AI-powered tools.

Google Cloud's presentation in Mexico City demonstrated how generative AI will help reinvent businesses' operations. From crafting captivating content to revolutionizing customer care, these technologies are paving the way for digital transformation. Thanks to generative AI, the ability to generate compelling content, synthesize and organize information, automate business processes and enhance customer experience with personalized content is a tangible reality.
