This week, Tthe Farnborough show demonstrated featured new technologies that are being implemented by several airlines to adapt to global trends. “Let’s face it, the pandemic was tough, but the industry is already looking toward the future. As always, there are lots of takeaways from an event of such magnitude. Once there, you realize there are some new trends for the future as well as business opportunities in the traditional markets and channels, but also lots of new ideas, state-of-the-art technology and even the entry of new business models still in development,” said Carlos Robles, President and Head of Aerospace, AMBE Engineering.

The Future of Aerospace

The Farnborough show highlighted howT the aerospace industry has poured investments towards improving efficiency and sustainability to match global needs and current industry trends. New eco fuels and electrically powered vehicles have emerged as hybrid solutions and have been well received by the public. Fully electric planes are still far away from becoming reality, however, as the size and efficiency of the batteries continue to pose major challenges for producers for planes to become usable.

Turkish Airlines Increases AICM Operations

Turkish airlines specified said that for Novemberon Nov. 1, 2022, the airline will include inaugurate 4four weekly flights to Mexico City International Airport (AICM). 

"Not atAt the moment, we plan to continue operating from Terminal 1 of the Mexico City airport. L, later, we do not know what may happen. This flight will allow us to have more connectivity in at some destinations that involved many hours of layover in Istanbul, such as those in Africa or the Far East. When we arrived in Mexico, we had this on our schedule, so we believe it is a very good alternativestrategy," said Adriana Muñozcano, Ccommercial rRepresentative, Turkish Airlines, of the airline to A21.

Latam Continues to Deal Wwith Chapter 11 Procedures

Latam will further update its business plan to advance an adequate exit of its Chapter 11 procedure. 

“In the document, the group modifies its estimate of cost savings from US$900 million to more than US$1 billion annually and expects by 2024 to exceed 2019 revenues, reaching US$11.5 billion,” reads the airline’s press release.
