Hiperbaric Installs Most Productive HPP System in Mexico

Hiperbaric, a global leader in high pressure processing (HPP) equipment, has installed its largest and most productive system to date at RV Fresh Foods in Uruapan, Michoacan. The Hiperbaric 525L, featuring 12 intensifiers, will significantly enhance the production capabilities of RV Fresh Foods, a prominent producer of avocado products.

The new system, capable of processing 15,000 pounds of guacamole per hour, marks RV Fresh Foods’ second HPP machine from Hiperbaric. The company previously installed a Hiperbaric 420L, and this new equipment will allow RV Fresh to double production, expanding its ability to meet growing consumer demand. HPP technology, which uses water pressure to inactivate bacteria and extend product shelf life without preservatives, is particularly beneficial for avocado-based products such as guacamole, ensuring freshness and quality.

RV Fresh Foods, founded over 40 years ago, is a leading producer in the avocado industry. The company co-manufactures various avocado products and produces its own guacamole brand, Guac On!, which is available nationwide in the United States at Publix and H-E-B stores. Their product lineup includes three guacamole flavors: Original, Chunky, and Spicy.

The installation of the Hiperbaric 525L is expected to further position RV Fresh Foods as a key player in the avocado processing industry. According to Roberto Peregrina, USA Executive Director and Board Member, Hiperbaric, the Hiperbaric 525L is unmatched in its capacity and efficiency, enabling RV Fresh Foods to double its production capacity and meet growing consumer demand for fresh guacamole.

The 525L system is the largest HPP machine in the world, with a 380mm diameter, making it highly productive and efficient. The HPP technology not only extends the shelf life of products up to 60 days but also helps RV Fresh Foods to distribute its products more widely and reduce food waste.

RV Fresh Foods' state-of-the-art facility, built in 2019, now houses both HPP systems. The company offers a variety of avocado products, including guacamole, avocado pulp, cubes, and halves, catering to both consumer and food service markets.
