The Netherlands-based artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for vegetable growers Source.ag, announced a partnership with Bayer. The collaboration is centered on equipping growers with tools to improve fruit and vegetable access worldwide.

According to Source.ag, Bayer will use Source.ag's technology, including the Source Plant App and Source Track, for internal trials at its De Ruiter Experience Center in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The center is a demonstration greenhouse where new tomato and cucumber varieties are grown and tested. Bayer aims to collect and analyze data from these trials to enhance its horticultural offerings.

John van der Knaap, Operational Lead, De Ruiter Experience Center, expressed optimism about the partnership, highlighting Source.ag’s ability to provide effective data visualization tools, as he considers the use of data as a crucial aspect of modern horticulture.

“With our mutual vision of ensuring food security through equipping growers for success, we are thrilled to join forces with Bayer. This initiative aligns with both Source.ag’s and Bayer’s commitment to continuously innovate to address some of the most pressing issues, including access to healthy diets for our society while respecting planetary boundaries,” said Rien Kamman, CEO and Co-Founder, Source.ag.
