Chery Unveils LEPAS L8, a Tech-Focused Premium Brand

Chery has officially launched the LEPAS L8, the inaugural vehicle under its new international premium brand, LEPAS. The L8 was unveiled during a production line event in Wuhu, China, led by Zhu Shaodong, Executive Vice President, Chery International, and Cao Bin, Chery’s Director of Technology, alongside other company executives.
The LEPAS brand aims to fill a market gap by offering vehicles that blend technological innovation with premium lifestyle appeal. According to Chery, the name LEPAS combines "LEAP" and "PASSION," symbolizing a balance of dynamism and elegance.
“The launch of LEPAS represents years of automotive innovation and marks a milestone in Chery’s premium strategy,” said Zhu Shaodong. Cao Bin emphasized that LEPAS "redefines elegant control," supported by the expertise of Chery’s eight global R&D centers.
The LEPAS L8 is positioned as a benchmark for conventional SUVs, featuring an advanced technology cabin, exceptional comfort, and a comprehensive suite of safety features. Designed for urban elites seeking a premium lifestyle, the L8 sets the tone for the LEPAS lineup, which will eventually span all major vehicle segments. Future products will cater to diverse consumer needs, from family-oriented users to those seeking more refined, luxury options.
Chery highlighted that the LEPAS project is more than just an automotive offering—it is a transformation of vehicles into extensions of consumers’ lifestyles. “Our vision is to make LEPAS the mobility choice defined by elegance and style,” company representatives stated.
